The dragon style side plate is very detailed and features a 2 bolt, one screw arrangement. You can also see the hand carved tear drop lock panels in these 2 photos.
The butt plate finial also features the very nice and stylish bow/quiver/arrows engraving matching the lock plate.
Here's a close view of the left hand Wilson lock with the bow/arrows/quiver engraving. You can also see the top jaw hole which simplifies flint changes.,
The Wilson trigger guard features the small circular finials which were a precursor to the elongated finials of later Northwest guns. Note the nice fire blued screws which are "timed", which means the slots line up with the axis of the gun.
The beaver tail raised carving on each Wilson gun adds a very nice touch.
This is a nice, 20 gauge English Wilson Chief's Grade Trade Gun. The 41 inch barrel version weighs about 7 and a quarter pounds.
