You can see the actual size a ittle better here in this photo. That's King's River in the background. We had a 5 inch rain last week and it's already come down and cleared up again. The eagles are flying frequently and winter is about to set in. Glad to have some more venison to put into the freezer. Should make some fine vittles when the snow starts flying! I have no idea who that old guy is...
Back to Dan's tips.
Here's the fine, 9 point buck taken with a left hand English Game gun in .54 caliber. He's got an extra point on his right beam and has an outside spread of 18.5 inches. This is the same gun that was broken completely in half at the wrist and I repaired it. This is the third big buck taken with the gun, so it's going to get some tender care from here on out since I got a nice repair job and finish on it.
