The fully inletted trigger guard is a straight rail style with medium size graceful bow and graceful trigger profile.  

Brass mounted copper accent French Type "C".

This was a copper accented French Type "C" with copper ramrod  thimbles, copper fleur-de-lis plate on lock plate,

small copper balls on furniture finials, and an oval inlaid into the sideplate.

​​THe caywood French  LOCK  is 5.5 inches, with  flat lock plate and

is marked with the elegant fleur di lis', typical of guns of this era.

it Features a Flat hammer and sculpted flat top frizzen.

The long groove pan is typical of early French locks.
